Hatchet
The title of this book is Tangerine.the author is Edward Bloor.This book was also publish in September 1st 2006.this story genre is a young adult fiction.This book also had many arwards.For instance,Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award Nominee (2001), South Carolina Book Award for Junior Book Award (2000), Michigan Library Association Thumbs Up! Award Nominee (1998), ALA's Top Ten Best Books for Young Adults (1998).Their are 324 pages in this book!As read this book in school it took 10 weeks to read! this story was about two brothers named Erik and Paul who didnt really get along well.The main places that had the most event was at the schools which are Tangerine Middle and Lake Windsor Middle.
Tangerine Middle School was the school that Paul went to and lake Windsor was the school that Erik attendent.The protagonist is Paul who is also the little brother of Erik.Some choices that the main character has to make is to just walk away tell someone or just get in trouble.The antagonist is erik.there were also many other characters named Joey, Theresa Cruz, Vincent, Mr. Fisher, Mrs. Fisher.
Most themes in this book Tangerine is honesty and perserverence.There is one message in the book which is volience,A brawl turns into manslaughter.The characters help convey the authors message by there actions and events.These characters had made decisions that I agree with.
What I liked a bout the book is you can reflect about the events,and can predict what was going to occur next! What I didnt like a bout the book was how it ended,because I thought the brothers were going to eventually get a long but that was quiet true.
I would suggest everyone to read Tangerine because this book is not hard to understand. However if you are a good reader this book will be easy for you but still give you and idea of a new topic and a book that you can compare and contrast. This book also made me want to continue to read so I can start comparing and feel more comfortable with my material.So my next book I will continue to read is hatchet
